EVELYN BAILEY

Evelyn was born in Toronto, Ontario, a first generation Chilean Canadian with Jamaican descent. She Immersed herself in classical fine arts early in her life, and fell deeply passionate about art and its way of communicating ideas. 

Growing up with the desire to create and master visual arts, Evelyn quickly recognized her talents and went on to earn a Degree in the Art of Animation. 

Evelyn now resides in Niagara falls, where she began a new journey. Her first experience  in Niagara Falls was participating in the ‘Artists Discovery Program under the mentorship of Antoine Gaber. She currently sits on the Arts and Culture Committee in Niagara Falls for 4 years, is an Ambassador for Spark Innovations Niagara and is the featured artist of the Brilliant Minded Women’s Foundation and Organization.

PATRICIA BEBIA MAWA

Patricia Bebia Mawa is the Executive Vice President of Silvertrust Media and Afroglobal Television, as well as the host of the Planet Africa. She has directed and produced over 15 television programs including The Visionaries, The Golden Button and Standing Ovation. Patricia is the writer and director of Afroglobal Television’s new drama series Omobella Palace. She is the Associate Publisher of Excellence, Envision and Destiny Magazines. In 2008 Silvertrust Media, introduced the Discover magazine series, which has since released over 20 titles and editions for organizations and countries. 

Listed in the Who’s Who in Black Canada, she is a recipient of the Toronto Police Community Service Award, the International Women Achievers Award, the BPPA Harry Jerome Award for Media; the Martin Luther King DreamKeeper Award and a Queen Elizabeth’s 11 Diamond Jubilee Medal. She is the co-founder of the Crossover Mentorship Program, a youth empowerment initiative. In 2020 Patricia was appointed chair of the Reelworld Screen Institute and in 2021, she was appointed to the Advisory board of Trebas College, part of the World University System.   

Patricia and her husband Moses have been featured on CNN International in a half hour special. In March 2016, the duo launched Afroglobal Television, a 24-hour television channel that is currently on Rogers Cable, Bell Fibe, Eastlink and Telus across Canada. MICHELLE MAMA

MICHELLE  MAMA is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and veteran  factual producer/director with over 300 of hours of television under her  belt. 

She  is a fiercely creative television professional known for her  outside-the-box storytelling and her tenacity in delivering the best in  factual entertainment. As a director she has the ability to  disarm subjects and generate true intimacy with her subjects and as a  producer she collaborates to inspire and extract extraordinary work from  her team. With a well-worn passport and the confidence of  experience, she is as comfortable in a studio control room as she is on  location in a war-torn country. She has produced two feature films:  scripted comedy Your Beautiful Cul De Sac Home (2007) and 21 Days to Nawroz (2009)  a documentary feature that she also directed, shot in the north of Iraq  exploring the lives of Kurdish women during the war.

Michelle is the newly-minted Executive Producer of Canada’s Drag Race (9 x 60) – the country’s top-rated original series. She was recently showrunner on two seasons of In the Making (16  x 30), a prime-time documentary series about ground-breaking artists  for CBC, as well as writing on the iconic sketch comedy series Baroness Von Sketch Show (IFC/CBC). In 2020, she was nominated by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television for a CSA for Best Direction in a Documentary Series for her episode of In the Making.

In 2021, Michelle was series director of the History Channel series Lost Car Rescue (6 x 60 mins). She also produced and directed an 8-part documentary series for Fuse/OutTV called Shine True about Trans and Non-Binary folks discovering the way they want to present in the world that was lauded by The New York Times, The New Yorker and Vogue. In 2022, she was nominated by the Academy for her second CSA for Best Direction, Factual.  She was also awarded the Imagen Award, the MIPCOM Diversity TV Excellence Award and the 2022 Critic’s Choice Award.

Michelle continues to develop scripted and unscripted projects, including a documentary feature AntiDiva about queer rock outlaw Carole Pope of the band Rough Trade.

Michelle Allman-Esdaille is the proud founder and co-owner of The Hook  & Company, a Toronto based e-commerce marketplace for creatives to  find and hire freelance Artist Managers and Entertainment Specialists.  She is also an Artist Manager herself, an artist strategist, consultant,  industry speaker on the business of song, mental health advocate and  mindset coach specific to the creative space. 

Recently added to her  roster, Michelle is the only recorded black female to own and operate  her own sync agency in Canada under the business name The HOOK Sync Group. Being privy to race and gender biases within the music industry,  it is important for Michelle to create spaces that are built  specifically for underrepresented artists that fall in the BIPOC, LGBTQ+  and recognized as female community.

RAFIAT AHMED

Rafiat Ahmed is a multi-passionate entrepreneur. She is a Restorative Faith Coach, Speaker, Workshop Facilitator, and host of Follow Your First Mind Podcast.

MARIAN BALOGUN

As part of her empowerment journey, Marian Balogun became a mental health advocate to help increase women’s inclusivity. She published, “The Different Faces of Narcissism” which recently ranked #1 on Amazon’s abuse and self-defence e-book category, educating individuals about psychological abuse.

Her book’s success derives from her personal experience with toxic individuals in her surroundings and her desire to empower people. Simone Cordice was born and raised in Canada, but her passion for  nature, culture, and the history of her people throughout the African  Diaspora led her to culminate her formal education at La Universidad de  Matanzas, Cuba and the University of the West Indies in Barbados.  This  foundation prepared her for a journey of self discovery and advocacy .
